  • Olympics look to ban non-sponsor Tweets
    • Trademark tags / slogans and contextual words are off limits – “Olympic, go for the gold, summer, rio, etc… if used in reference to anything Olympic
    • Rule 40 is ostensibly in place to prevent the “over-commercialization” of the Olympics and cut down on unneeded distractions from its core mission
  • Instagram “Stories” released
    • Secondary News feed that only shows content that is available for 24 hours.
    • Nearly identical to Snapchat
    • Companies will continue building on the successes of others.
  • Yahoo is Sold to Verizon
    • After 22 years, $4.83 Billiion in core assets are acquired by Verizon
    • Acquired AOL last year
    • This will put Verizon in a highly competitive position as a top global mobile media company when the Deal is finalized in 2017
