- 3 Proven Ways to Increase Your Visibility on LinkedIn Article by Melonie Dodaro via Social Media Today
- Optimize your LinkedIn introduction card
- Your Prospects need to be able to find you in the search results
- Once they find you, they need to be moved to learn more about you as well as how you can help them
- Make sure that your profile is set up so LinkedIn’s search algorithm can find you for your main keywords.
- Once you show up in their search results, they need to quickly see that you are worth connecting to.
- The three most important sections featured in your introduction card are your Headline, Profile photo, and Cover Image.
- The LinkedIn Headline: Your headline is a top priority. Including your main keywords in your headline can greatly impact your chances of appearing in prospects’ search results.
- The LinkedIn Profile Photo: If you want to make a good first impression, make sure that you have an up-to-date professional profile picture that is recognizable.
- The LinkedIn Cover Image: In addition to your headline and profile photo, your cover image is the first thing people see when they arrive at your profile. A professionally designed cover image can increase your chances with prospects immensely.
- Share status updates and LinkedIn Publisher articles
- Posting regularly on your LinkedIn will help you to get noticed by your network.
- When one of your connections is looking for someone who does what you do, they will be more likely to think of you because of your regular posting on LinkedIn.
- You can also include two or three relevant hashtags when you post. This will help to increase your reach beyond your first-degree connections.
- Engage with your network!
- Engagement is key! This is a good thing to remember for ALL platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc.).
- Whether you are engaging with other users, or they are engaging with you, engagement will increase your visibility on LinkedIn (as well as other social media platforms).
- Fill your network with quality connections. A quality connection is going to be someone who will engage with you on social.
- People can only find you if you are in their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd degree networks, or if you both belong to the same group.
- This is another reason to grow your network, having a small network will restrict your ability to find your ideal clients. Also, having a large quality network ensures people that you did not just throw together a profile the other day.
